Road Trip!

post-title

Queso stood at the door, tail wagging like a helicopter. Today was the day—her very first road trip!

She had her suitcase packed with all the essentials:

3 chewy sticks, 1 blanket, and exactly 27 squeaky toys (just in case).

“Goodbye, house!” she barked. “Hello, adventure!”

The car hummed along the highway, and Queso sat proudly in the backseat— nose high, ears flopping gently with every bump in the road.

Fields zipped by. Trees waved hello. Every once in a while, she’d spot another dog in another car— and they’d share a quick, polite “road trip nod.”

Queso gave a happy sigh. She was on her way. Somewhere fun. Somewhere special.

At first, the ride was awesome. But now… Queso had counted 147 trees, 6 cows, and exactly 0 snack breaks.

She flopped against the door dramatically.

"Are we there yet?" she asked for the third time in seven minutes.

“Not yet” her mom replied.

“Are we there yet?” she asked again, just in case something changed in the last 12 seconds.

The road stretched on. Her tail drooped.

She was officially, undeniably, completely bored.

So, naturally, she did the only thing left to do: flipped herself upside down in the seat and stared at the ceiling.

"Maybe if I sit like this," she thought, "someone will notice and say, 'Wow! What a cool, upside-down travel dog!'"

No one said anything.

She huffed, and added jazz paws for flair. Still nothing.

Queso narrowed her eyes. “Fine. I’ll stay like this forever.”

Eventually, Queso gave up.

She had tried everything— silly poses, sky-watching, nose-squishing on the window…

But now, she was officially out of ideas.

With one last dramatic sigh, she curled into a fluffy donut, rested her chin on her paws, and let her eyes sloooowly drift shut.

They made it!

It was real. It was beautiful. It was... Puppyland.

There were bacon-scented balloons. A fire hydrant fountain. A roller coaster shaped like a bone. And a booth that sold “All-You-Can-Lick Peanut Butter Pops.”

Queso’s eyes sparkled like squeaky toys in the sun.

The ride had been long. She had been upside-down, inside-out, and snack-deprived for HOURS.

But now? Totally. Worth. It.

“Let’s do everything twice!” she barked.
